A common weak point in the Mazda FD RX-7 as many owners have already found out, are the flimsy front sway bar brackets/mounts. In theory, Mazda engineers tried to shave off as much weight as possible from the FD, and the front stabilizer mounts fell victim to this. Through years and thousands of miles, your sway bar mounts will eventually give way and start to bend, not to mention the countless amount of times you may have stuck something on the road due to it’s low hanging clearance.
Enter renowned tuner Super Now who has addressed this issue some time ago, when they realized after replacing their own worn and bent sway bar brackets with new Mazda ones, the cost wasn’t justified if they had to keep replacing them. So they made their own!
Below is a side-by-side comparison of a common high mileage FD sway bar mount next to a new one
Super Now also developed these new mounts to work with OEM and aftermarket sway bars, and made the mounts shorter by almost a full inch, so now you have even better clearance with your 13B-REW!
All Super Now front stabilizer brackets will also include a matching radiator mount to make sure the geometry of your suspension isn’t thrown off.
